Math Teacher

Balboa Academy is located in City of Knowledge, Clayton Panamá.

Role Summary:
Provide students with the necessary mathematics curriculum that can contribute to their preparation for standardized tests and college entrance examinations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop lesson plans and relevant teaching materials that emphasize mathematical teaching methods.
Show mathematical concepts using models and other available technology methods and other standard or teaching materials prepared by the teacher.
Develop learning activities that connect math with the physical world.
Establish and maintain standards for student behavior that is necessary for the regular, productive classroom.
Evaluate the success of each student in mathematical knowledge and skills.
Communicate with parents on the interpretation of modern teaching methods mathematics and school advisers to discuss individual student progress.
Instruct pupils in classroom activities during the designated working day.
Participate in the curriculum and other development programs.
Participate in studentrelated activities, such as mathematical teams and participates in faculty committees.
Maintain professional competence through continuing education provided for professional development activities.
Conduct teaching and learning activities using educational materials, books, etc.
Individually adapt educational processes and procedures for improving student educational opportunities.
Maintain appropriate standards for student behavior using behavioral strategies.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A major in mathematics or a minimum of 30 SH in mathematics is required.
Course work must include a minimum of 12 SH in upper level mathematics.
Only math credits earned from a Mathematics Department are acceptable.
