Business Need / Purpose of Role:
The
Internal Audit Manager reporting to the Head of Risk and Internal Audit is responsible for all control review and internal auditing requirements of Inchcape Shipping Services World and its Group Companies
This includes:
- Consulting with the business to help identify and document key controls either in place or required to improve the control framework and mitigate key risks.
- Planning and delivering portfolio of audit and control review engagements to provide an independent assessment of the effectiveness of managements controls over managing key group risks. This includes planning, conducting, and reviewing controls, audit fieldwork and developing audit reports or other deliverables for agreement with the Head of Risk and Internal Audit and key stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative, exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures.
- Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize, be detail oriented and results driven.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, including strong verbal and listening skills.
- Must have an advanced communication (verbal, written and listening) skills in order to communicate at different levels throughout the organization.
- Professional experience in an internal control, internal or external audit team, relevant business processes and/ or knowledge of the industry.
- Experience in the development, review and updating of control frameworks.
- Experience in the development, review and updating of audit policies, procedures and templates.
- Possess a strong knowledge of auditing governance, risk management, information technology, finance and commercial operations and have an ability to demonstrate a good understanding of risk, control, and governance in an operationally focused business.
- Must possess an advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish or Portuguese/English desired.
Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related major in a public or accredited academic institution preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in internal auditing, accounting, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of SOX, US GAAP, COSO, and risk mitigation.
- Prior experience in Shipping, Freight Forwarding, or Transportation/Logistics or Maritime industry preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrable success with managing change programs across dispersed entities, help to drive change through in a global and matrix environment.
Certifications:
- CPA, CIA, or other relevant certification preferred.
Travel:
- Able to travel internationally with reasonable notice (2540% usually for 12 weeks at a time)
