The RoleJob SummaryWillis Towers Watson currently seeking to recruit an Oil and Gas Property Risk Control Engineer based in London to join our rapidly expanding Natural Resources property and Casualty team.

The role will involve managing accounts for large multi-national organisations primarily in both downstream Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals industry sector but will be supplemented with survey work in other industries.

Excellent knowledge of process operations, asset integrity activities (maintenance inspection), and process safety management; plus international codes & standards is highly desirable.

Principal Accountabilities To put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at the heart of the way you do business.

From conducting risk assessments to providing bespoke technology and engineering guidance.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:
Develop risk engineering programmes for insured clients taking into consideration the needs of all stakeholders (e.g. insureds, insurers, broking team, etc);Arrange individual risk engineering surveys through discussions with account teams, insureds and market engineers, once arranged - coordinate and manage the execution of surveys on a global basis to the satisfaction of insureds;Prepare marketing risk assessment reports to assist in the placement of client insurance programmes.


Reports will follow the Willis Towers Watson standard structure and contain key understanding of the hazards at facilities and how the management team are controlling/mitigating their impact.

Presentation of risk improvements and loss calculations is also required;Develop risk improvement recommendations that are clear, appropriate and are fairly balanced between the interests of insureds and insurers;Calculate loss expectancies within company guidelines across a range of industries;Ensure that all reports and other deliverables are prepared and ready in a timely manner;Provide technical support to clients and the broking team across a range of issues relating to good industry practices;Maintain all risk management team tracking tools such as schedules and planning spread sheets;Other aspects of work activities include:
Ensuring the risk management team fully understand the scope of work required;Clear understanding of the funding that supports engineering activities on individual accounts;Ensuring that proposed engineering activities do not exceed the available fee amount unless agreed by Account Executive and engineering manager;Understanding account specifics such as renewal date, deductibles, coverage and specific exclusions;Maintain technical competency in chosen industry sector and keep up-to-date with risk management developments (e.g.

attend seminars, review technical publications, etc.);Represent Willis Towers Watson professionally on business trips and in meetings;Comply with all Willis Towers Watson company policies (e.g.

Travel, Ethics, etc.);Any other duties commensurate with position or level of responsibility.

The Requirements A minimum of 10 years of experience working within the Oil, Gas or Petrochemicals industry.

This experience can be in a variety of roles including operations, technical, engineering, maintenance or HSE;Degree (or equivalent) Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

Additional qualifications in risk management or relevant accreditations would be considered favourably;Comfortable travelling extensively (e.g. approx.


90 days per year) on an international basis;Self-starter, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively relate to individuals at all levels - from site technicians up to company CEOs;Proven ability to write detailed reports of a varied technical nature;Member of engineering associations (i.e.

AIChemE, IChemE, IMechE, etc.) is preferable;Experience of working with international engineering standards and codes such API, ASME, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA;Working knowledge of fire protection and detection systems would be consider;Multi-lingual preferred.
